Meadow ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Jake Meadows. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Meadow iOS application and the website at getmeadow.app.
We take your privacy seriously — particularly because Meadow handles health-related information. We designed the App to keep your data on your device and under your control.
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at support@getmeadow.app.
When you use Meadow, you may provide the following health-related information:
This data is entered by you directly. We do not infer or generate health data about you from other sources.
With your explicit permission, Meadow may read data from Apple HealthKit (such as weight and body measurements) and write data to Apple HealthKit (such as weight entries you log in the App). We access HealthKit data solely to provide App functionality — specifically, to display your health metrics alongside your medication history within the App.
HealthKit-sourced data is stored on your device only. It is not uploaded to iCloud, synced via CloudKit, or transmitted to any server. This is required by Apple's HealthKit guidelines and is a commitment we take seriously.
We do not use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, or data mining. We do not sell HealthKit data or share it with third parties.
You can revoke HealthKit access at any time via Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices on your iPhone.
If you subscribe to Meadow Premium, your purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store and managed by RevenueCat, our subscription management provider. We receive:
We do not receive or store your payment card details, billing address, or Apple ID. Apple and RevenueCat handle payment processing.
Meadow uses Apple's CloudKit service to sync your user-entered data across your devices via your iCloud account. The data synced includes your medication records, dose history, injection site records, manually entered weight and body measurements, and app preferences.
HealthKit-sourced data is never synced to iCloud. Only data you enter directly into Meadow is synced across your devices.
This data is:
You can disable iCloud sync in your device settings at any time.
Meadow does not collect:
We have no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting services, and no advertising frameworks in the App.
We use the data described above for the following purposes only:
We do not use your health data for profiling, targeted advertising, or any purpose unrelated to the App's core functionality.
If we introduce analytics, crash reporting, AI-powered features, or any new data collection in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, seek your consent before collecting additional data.
We share data only with the following service providers, and only to the extent necessary to operate the App:
| Provider | Purpose | Data Shared |
|---|---|---|
| Apple (CloudKit) | iCloud sync across your devices | Medication records, dose history, injection sites, manually entered weight, preferences |
| Apple (HealthKit) | Health app integration | Weight and body measurements (with your permission; stays on-device only) |
| Apple (App Store) | Purchase processing | Transaction data (handled entirely by Apple) |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management | Anonymous user ID, subscription status, purchase identifiers |
We do not sell your personal data. We do not sell consumer health data. We do not share health data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties. We do not use HealthKit data or other health-related data for advertising, profiling, or data mining.
We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.
Your health data is stored primarily on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This means your data exists on your iPhone first, and is only synced to iCloud if you have iCloud enabled for Meadow.
Where Meadow relies on Apple-provided services, data transmitted through those services is protected using Apple's security measures, including encryption in transit and other platform-level protections. We also rely on Apple's platform security features, such as device encryption, access controls, and permission systems, together with reasonable technical measures appropriate to the nature of the App.
Meadow does not operate its own backend servers. We do not maintain a central database of user health data. Your data lives on your device and, if iCloud sync is enabled, in your personal iCloud account.
Because Meadow is designed to work without account creation, most of your data remains under your control on your device.
If you contact us with a deletion request, we will delete any personal data we actually control, subject to legal or operational retention needs. We will respond within 30 days.
Regardless of where you live, you can:
If you are located in the UK or EEA, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:
Legal basis for processing: We process your health data based on your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a) GDPR), which you provide when you enter data into the App and when you grant HealthKit permissions. We process subscription data based on contractual necessity (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Data controller: Jake Meadows, contactable at support@getmeadow.app.
If you are unsatisfied with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact support@getmeadow.app.
Meadow is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age. GLP-1 medications are prescribed to adults, and the App is designed for adult users. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from someone under 18, we will delete it promptly.
Your data is stored on your device and, if iCloud sync is enabled, in your personal iCloud account. Apple may store iCloud data in data centres located in various countries. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's privacy policy and applicable data transfer mechanisms. RevenueCat processes subscription data in the United States; their practices are described in RevenueCat's privacy policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes — particularly to how we handle health data — we will notify you through the App before the changes take effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was most recently revised.
Meadow is a consumer health tracking and information tool. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it does not create a doctor-patient relationship.
Meadow is not a healthcare provider. However, health-related data is sensitive and may be subject to different privacy, consumer-protection, and data-security rules depending on the jurisdiction and the specific circumstances.
